In honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, “the blessing of the animals” took place at the west doors of St. George’s this past Sunday at 3PM. Approximately 14 dogs and 2 rabbits, accompanied by their owners, gathered to receive their blessing from Fr. Tom Pettigrew who was assisted by Mother Lisa Schoonmaker and our music director Brian Taylor. Pets and people enjoyed a brief service of prayer and individual blessings.
